Veganized Tzatziki

Are you like me and crave easy and not so heavy food after the end of 2016? A lot of food combined with drinks and perhaps one too many sweets have made me craving fresh and easy food! Something like a nice salad, roasted veggies or a nice warming soup.

Whatever you decide to make for lunch/dinner, a tzatziki is perfect to spice up the plate. A fresh “yoghurt” dressing with flavor of garlic and cucumber, you’ll have to search hard for a more fresh dressing/side dish.

Vegan Tzatziki

What you need

  • 250g dairy-free cream fraiché (I used oatly’s Oatfraiche)
  • 1 cucumber
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • Salt&pepper

How to

  • Pour the fraiché in a bowl. Rinse off the cucumber before cutting of the endings.
  • Grate the cucumber and let it sit for a while and then squeeze out some of the water before adding to the fraiché. Press the garlic and mix together all the ingredients in a bowl, add salt and pepper after taste.

Personally I think the tzatziki is best when you’ve let it sit in a fridge for a little while before serving. And perfectly served with olives and a Mediterranean flavor.
